2025 Bursary Winners Announced

14/06/2025

CUPE 1267 is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 CUPE 1267 Bursaries. We received several exceptional applications this year—10 in total—and each was carefully reviewed by our dedicated selection committee.

The review panel was made up of CUPE members from a range of departments: Caroline Dalgleish (Parks), Andrew McClelland (Engineering), Chad Klassen (Public Works), and Jennifer Tass (Parks & Recreation).

To ensure fairness and impartiality, all applications were anonymized before the panel received them. An independent staff member handled the redaction of names and personal information before forwarding the materials to the committee. This allowed the panel to assess each application objectively, without knowledge of the applicant's identity.

As in previous years, applications were evaluated based on:

  • Volunteer experience

  • Employment history

  • Completeness of the application package

  • Quality of the short essay

After thorough review and discussion, the following three applicants were selected:

  • $1,000Anderson (Andy) Kyte

  • $750Callie Budgell

  • $750Drew Muller

Congratulations to this year's bursary recipients! Letters outlining next steps will be emailed shortly.

To all applicants—thank you for taking the time to apply. The decision process was challenging due to the high quality of submissions, and we encourage everyone to reapply next year.

A heartfelt thank-you to our selection committee for your time and thoughtful contributions to this meaningful process.
